PRF Injections, Wash Park, Denver
PRF is one of our favorite biostimulants for naturally restoring brightness, smoothness, and support.
In liquid or gel form, it stimulates your body’s collagen and elastin to improve texture, strengthen delicate skin, and add subtle support—especially under the eyes.
Results develop naturally and continue improving skin quality over time.
PRF stands for platelet-rich fibrin, a regenerative treatment made from a small sample of your own blood. After processing, the platelet-rich fibrin is injected into targeted areas where it can support collagen production, tissue repair, and gradual skin rejuvenation.
At Theresa Carrie Aesthetics in Denver’s Wash Park, PRF injections are used for patients who want a natural regenerative option for delicate areas, early volume changes, skin quality, and collagen support. Because PRF comes from your own blood, results develop gradually and look subtle by design.

What to Expect
You will receive detailed pre- and post-treatment instructions via text prior to your appointment to help you prepare and optimize your results. Your provider will sit down with you to discuss your concerns, goals, expectations, and treatment area(s). A focused facial assessment will be performed to determine candidacy and appropriate placement.
Education is a key part of the visit, your provider will explain how PRF works, what it can help improve, and what results to realistically expect. A personalized treatment plan will be created collaboratively, with time for questions.
If appropriate, PRF will be prepared from your own blood and injected during the same visit. Swelling, tenderness, and bruising are common after treatment
For under-eye PRF, patients should expect more significant swelling, with 1 to 3 days of noticeable downtime. Results develop gradually over several weeks as collagen production is stimulated.
An initial series of 3 to 5 treatments is typically recommended, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. After the initial series, one treatment every 6 to 12 months is recommended to maintain results.

How We Approach PRF Injections
PRF is not filler. It does not create instant volume the way hyaluronic acid filler does.
Instead, PRF works by using your body’s own platelets, fibrin, and growth factors to support repair and collagen remodeling over time. This makes it especially useful for patients who want gradual improvement without adding a synthetic filler product.
The treatment is often used in delicate areas where subtlety matters, including under the eyes, around the mouth, and in areas where skin quality has started to change. Because PRF results build over time, most patients need a series of treatments rather than a single appointment.
The goal is slow, natural regeneration and not an immediate dramatic change.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are PRF injections?
PRF injections use platelet-rich fibrin made from your own blood. The sample is processed to concentrate platelets, fibrin, and growth factors, then injected into targeted areas to support collagen production and tissue repair.
How is PRF different from PRP?
PRF and PRP both come from your own blood, but they are processed differently. PRP is platelet-rich plasma and is often used with microneedling. PRF contains a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors more gradually, making it useful as an injectable regenerative treatment.
Is PRF the same as filler?
No. Filler creates immediate volume with hyaluronic acid. PRF works more gradually by supporting your body’s own regenerative process. It can improve skin quality and subtle volume changes over time, but it is not a direct replacement for filler.
Where can PRF be used?
PRF is commonly used under the eyes, around the mouth, and in areas where skin quality, fine lines, or early thinning are concerns. The nurse practitioner will determine whether PRF is appropriate based on your anatomy and goals.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients need a series of treatments for best results. The exact number depends on the area treated, your starting point, and your goals.
When will I see results?
PRF results develop gradually. Some patients notice early improvement within a few weeks, but collagen remodeling and tissue changes continue over several months.
Is there downtime?
Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising can occur after injections. This is usually temporary, but bruising can last up to two weeks.
Do you accept new patients?
Yes. PRF appointments are available by appointment only. You can book a consultation online, or you can text the practice at 720-281-9551 with questions.
